Entrepreneurship Task Force Meeting Notes – December 2009

Attendance: Shelby Crow, Charles Bell, Bob Newman, Charles Holland, Gordon Ipson, Robert Herrington, Eric Thomas, Cynthia Halieman and Sara Kramer.

Discussion Topics:

  • Web-Site
    Shelby will create a 1-page flyer to serve as a promotion piece to help populate our web-site that task force members can email or hand out to other service providers.
    We need to optimize our web-site address to ensure it is easy to find during web browsing by entrepreneurs.
    We need to have area chambers of commerce and other like organizations list our address on their web-sites.
    We should cross-market to and with other Summit Task Forces.
  • Events
    We will hold one in each state by June 1st, 2010.  Sub-committees for each state will be established.  Gordon, Charles Holland, Bob and Robert will work on the Missouri event.   The topic will be:  New Markets; Government Contracts, Export and Emerging Industries.
  • Case Stories
    As was discussed at the October meeting with Deb Markely, it would be a worthwhile project to identify success stories throughout our region to highlight.  We are going to identify 6-7 from each state and write case stories on each.  Shelby will send out a template and criteria for determining success stories.
  • 2010 Meeting Dates
    We will meet every other month in 2010 alternating each time between face-to-face and tele-conference.
  • Next meeting will be Tuesday, February 16th at 11AM in Quincy.
