CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – MyEntre.Net, Iowa’s online community for Iowa entrepreneurs and small business, has announced the launch of the new ‘Dream Big Grow Here’ contest for entrepreneurs and small businesses in Iowa. Starting in June, businesses statewide can compete monthly to win $1,000 to help bring their business concept to reality or help their business to grow here in Iowa.

A graduate of Luther College who studied history, Spanish and international studies, Hoenig didn't anticipate going into the organic farming business, either. Mostly, though, she couldn't have expected her unlikely career path would someday earn her a presidential visit.

Even in the face of a sagging economy, a company is planning to set up shop in Mt. Pleasant. According to Kiley Miller, executive vice president of the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance, a health care technology company has taken the first steps to making Mt. Pleasant its new home.

MOUNT PLEASANT IOWA — A $250,000 award granted by the Iowa Economic Department of Economic Development on Thursday should be good news for the city of Mount Pleasant Iowa. The money goes to Biomedical Synergies Inc., of Wayzata, Minn., out of the Grow Iowa Values Financial Assistance Program. The award should clear a hurdle for the company, which is strongly considering putting its headquarters in Mount Pleasant Iowa.
